Last time, we stopped at Dolanaar. We’ll continue on from there in the journey to level a Night Elf.
Turn in “Dolanaar Delivery” and ‘Crown of the Earth pt.2”. Take “Crown of the Earth pt. 3”. Go to the tower and get ““Denalan's Earth”, “A Troubling Breeze”, “The Emerald Dreamcatcher” , and “Twisted Hatred”. Train in First Aid. This will be the only profession to get if you are focused on leveling quickly. Get “The Road to Darnassus” if it is available.
Go complete “Zenn’s Bidding” to the east of Dolanaar. Also, complete “Crown of the Earth pt. 3”. Turn in “A Troubling Breeze” to get “Gnarlpine Corruption” Turn in ‘The Emerald Dreamcatcher” and “Zenn’s Bidding”. Go to the tower and get ‘Seek Redemption”. Complete “Seek Redemption” and then go turn in “Denalan’s Earth”. Get “Timberling Seeds” and “Timberling Sprouts”. They can be completed around the lake. Turn them in to get “Rellian Greenspyre”. Head back to Dolanaar.
Turn in “Crown of the Earth pt .3” and get “pt. 4”. Go to the tower and turn in “Gnarlpine Corruption”. Take “The Relics of Wakening”. Turn in “The Emerald Dreamcatcher” and get “Ferocitas the Dream Eater”. If you aren’t level 8 by now, do a little grinding/ Once you hit level 8, go get new skills.
Complete “Seek Redemption” and head north to Starbreeze. Complete “Ferocitas the Dream Eater”. Now die on purpose to cut down on travel back to Dolanaar. Don’t argue, just do it. Find some really high mobs and see if you can gain some XP before you go down. Go to Fel Rock Cave to complete “Twisted Hatred”. Turn in “Ferocitas the Dream Eater” and “Twisted Hatred” at Dolanaar. Complete “The Road to Darnassus” then go to the cave to complete “The Relics of Wakening.” Get “The Sleeping Druid” inside and kill the shamans to complete it. Get “Druid at the Claw” and complete it. Head south and complete “Crown of the Earth pt. 4”. Die again to save travel time back to Dolanaar. Turn in “Crown of the Earth pt. 4” to get “pt. 5”. Turn in ‘The Road to Darnassus” and “The Relics of Wakening”. Accept “Ursal the Mauler”. Grind to get to level 10. If you are a hunter, you can do some quests to get your pet. I prefer the Strigid Hunter or the Elder Nightsaber, but it’s your choice.
Go to Darnassus to turn in “Rellian Greenspyre” and get “Tumors”. Get “Nessa Shadowsong” as well. Go south to get “The Glowing Fruit”. Complete “Ursal the Mauler”. Die to save travel to Darnassius. Complete “Tumors” and ‘Crown of the Earth pt. 5”.
Get “The Enchanted Glade” and complete it. Turn it in to get “Teldrassil”. Back to Darnassus to turn in “Tumors” and get “Return to Denalan”. Go to tower to turn in “Teldrassil” and get “Grove of the Ancients”. Hearth back to Dolanaar. Hand in “Crown of the Earth pt.5” to get “Crown of the Earth pt.6”. Also turn in “Ursal the Mauler”. Turn in “Return to Denalan” to get “Oakenscowl” Turn in “The Glowing Fruit” and then go kill “Oakenscowl”. Turn that quest in. Head towards Darnassus. If you need some XP, grind for a while until you are less than a 1000 XP away from 12. Turn in “Crown of the Earth pt.6”. You should be level 12 now so get some skills.
Go turn in “Nessa Shadowsong” and get “The Bounty of Teldrassil”. Turn it in to hitch a ride and get “Flight to Auberdine”.
Your Night Elf should now be level 12 with some good skills. We’ll look at the journey from 12-20 next.
WoW Alliance Leveling information and tips. Learn how to have better WoW Alliance Leveling with any of your WoW Alliance toons
Other World of Warcraft Guides
Here are some other WoW guides that don't necessarily focus on leveling a character, but are good nonetheless. Some of these have already been updated with Burning Crusade content. Heck, you pick one of these up and you might be telling people in your guild about the new content before they experience it for themselves.
Dereks Gold Mastery Guide - Since Blizzard frowns (and bans) people buying gold, here is a guide that guarantees you can make 60 gold an hour or more without using hacks and without risk of getting banned. It's already updated for WotLK too since the author was part of the BC beta test. Considering that gold costs about $.33 USD a piece at most online stores (and Blizzard could possibly ban you), you'd need to make about 100 gold to pay for the guide (it's a onetime fee of $37). Based on the guide, that could be easily done in under 2 hours. I highly recommend this guide.
Joana's Horde Leveling Guide - In case you missed my earlier post, this is the DEFINITIVE Horde Leveling Guide. Joana set a server record for reaching level 60 in under 5 game days. The guide is already updated for Burning Crusade. Check out his page and see why this is the only Horde Leveling Guide you'll need.

Night Elf Leveling: 1-6 Guide
Here's a guide on getting your Night Elf Leveling started. Keep in mind, these are suggestions and you can change what quests you do if you choose
Take “The Balance of Nature pt.1” and kill the mobs to complete it. Turn it in and get “The Balance of Nature pt.2”and “Etched Sigil” along with “The Woodland Protector pt.1” and “A Good Friend”. Complete “The Woodland Protector pt.1” and turn it in to get “The Woodland Protector pt.2”. Complete and turn in. Get “Webwood Venom” and turn in “Etched Sigil”. I suggest getting beast tracking from the hunter trainer, but it's up to you. Complete “The Balance of Nature pt.2” and “Webwood Venom” which involves taking out mobs in and around the cave. Turn in “A Good Friend” and get “A Friend in Need”. Turn in “Webwood Venom” and get “Webwood Egg”. This is probably a good time to get some skills for your character. Once you've trained, turn in “The Balance of Nature pt.2”. Also go turn in “A Friend in Need” to get “Iverron's Antidote pt.1”. Go complete “Iverron's Antidote pt.1” in and around cave. You can also complete “Webwood Egg” in this area as well. Turn in “Webwood Egg” and get “Tenaron's Summons” then go turn it in to receive “Crown of the Earth pt.1”. Turn in “Iverron's Antidote pt.1” to get “Iverron's Antidote pt.2”. Complete “Crown of the Earth pt.1” and then go turn in “Iverron's Antidote pt.2”. Follow that by turning in “Crown of the Earth pt.1” to get “Crown of the Earth pt.2”.
If you aren't to level 6 yet, grind until you reach that level. Get new skills and take a break. The next part will take us on a trip to Dolanaar.

So the Horders Don't Think I Forgot them.....
Here's a leveling guide similar to Zygor Alliance Guide:
Joana's Horde Leveling Guide
Joana just released the 70-80 WOTLK guide to go with his 1-70 guide AND videos. Like Zygor's, it has a cost attached, $47. Also, Joana leveled to 60 in just under 5 game days. This dude know what he's talking about and provides a video journal of his trip to 80. There isn't a better Horde leveling guide for World of Warcraft available anywhere else.

Powerleveling: Yes or No?
Some questions about whether powerleveling (taking a character to high levels in a very short amount of time) is worth the money. I've never used powerleveling as I prefer to earn my stripes going through the game. That being said, there might be some spots where paying the price for a leveling service is worthwhile. If you've already gone through the game a few times and have a couple level 80 characters, but want to create one more, then it might not be a bad idea to use a powerleveling service. They can get you into the high levels fairly quickly. Doing a little math and using Zygor's Alliance Leveling Guide, it would take 3+ weeks to reach level 80 if you were able to make it in 7 game days. That's 40+ hours a week for 3+ weeks, basically a second job. Then again for $150-200, someone could do the work for you and get you there in less time.
The next question then would be which services to trust. Since I've never used them, I can't really comment, but one of my buddies says that Guy4Game.com is a good service and not fly-by-night companies who'll take your money and then leave you with a level 1 character or worse yet, get your account banned.

WoW Alliance Leveling 20 and up
Congratulations! You've reached level 20. Alliance characters have a lot of different paths they can take at this point. Here are some links to give you options going forward.
Alliance Leveling Guide (21-30)
Jame's Alliance Leveling Guide (31-40)
41-50 and 50-60
I mentioned Zygor's guide earlier. Considering the Official Guide is $24.99 and weighs 10 pounds (ok, not really, but it's not something you could sneak in to work or class and read at your desk), Zygor's guide is worth the extra money. Keep a copy at work and one at home. Nothing like printing off a few pages for some bathroom reading or a little studying during lunch. Just don't tell my boss that's what I do, ok? In addition, the new in-game guides take care of the problem of alt+tabbing to go back and forth between WoW and the guide.

WoW Auction House Tips
Some quick World of Warcraft Auction House tips. Auction Houses are a good place to make some decent gold while you are out questing. Think of them as WoW's version of Ebay. Much like Ebay you can place items up for auction. Here some tips on creating some gold making aucitons.
To create an auction simply open your inventory/bag and drag the items into the item slot in the left of the Auctions interface. Here you can set the price you are looking for by clicking in the small boxes indicated as gold, silver or bronze and entering your amount. Below this is also a box for a 'buyout price'. This is a price you can set and if a bidder meets this price it will automatically be sold to that bidder. Making this price too high will also mean bidders will not be tempted to bid the higher buyout price.
Players are encouraged to set buyout prices (like Ebay's Buy it Now option) since many people often want items immediately when they bid on them, especially trade goods and raw materials, and are often willing to pay a higher price to buy it immediately instead of waiting for the auction to expire.
You can have your auction run for 2 hours, 8 hours or 24 hours only, no longer.
Selling an item does come at a price, there is a fee that has to be paid into the system to place your auction. The fee deposit is calculated as a percentage of the item's value if sold to a vendor. The fee is also more expensive the longer you set the duration of your sale so it's important you get the balance just right when putting an item up for auction as you want to keep the fee as low as possible. If the item is sold within the allotted time, the seller will have their fee deposit returned via the in-game mail system along with the money from the bidder minus a transaction fee, which is a small percentage of the ultimate sale price. However if the item fails to sell, the seller loses the deposit fee while the item is returned back to the seller via the in-game mail system for retrieval. The item will remain in the mailbox for a maximum of 30 days.
If you are in game when the auction expires, a message will flash across the middle of your screen saying your auction has been successful or unsuccessful.

WoW Alliance Leveling Guide 13-20
The Alliance has some latitude on where to level once they reach level 12. Quests can be taken and completed in Westfall, Lakeshire, and Redridge. Joan's Alliance Leveling Guide does an excellent job of providing guidance on the quickest path to go from 13-20. Joan starts in Westfall and goes all the way to the Deadmines with detailed info on the quests in between.
Another option is Zygor's Alliance Leveling Guide. Zygor can show you how to go from 1-80 in 7 game days which is pretty cool. Considering he did it without hacks or cheating, and it's even more impressive. It's by far the best step-by-step guide available for leveling an Alliance character. The catch? It's $50.

WoW Alliance Leveling 7-12
More info on how to level your alliance character quickly. Something I forgot to mention, classes that have pets (hunters, warlocks, etc) seem to move a little quicker through the levels. The reason being is that the pet can deal damage and soak up damage from the enemy.
Level 7
Off to Goldshire. Grab "Rest and Relaxation" quest on your way. Turn in your two quests when you get to Goldshire. Also be sure to make the Inn your home. No need warping back to Northshire. Pick up "Gold Dust Exchange", "Kobold Candles", "The Fargodeep Mine", and "A Fishy Peril". Do "A Fishy Peril" to get the followup, "Further Concerns". Head in to the woods. Go to Stonefield Farm and get "Princess Must Die!" and "Lost Necklace". Go to Billy in the Vineyards to turn in "Lost Necklace" and get the followup "Pie for Billy". You need 4 Chunk of Boar Meat so get to killin'. Go to Stonefield Farm to turn in "Pie for Billy" and get "Back to Billy". Go to Billy a final time and turn in quest. Get followup "Goldtooth".
Head to Fargodeep Mine. Go through the entrance on the bottom. Taking out Goldtooth and getting the Necklace should complete two quests. Working through the mine should allow you to complete two more. Keep taking out Kobold until you reach level 8 and complete the quests.
Level 8
Return to Stonefield Farm and turn in quest. Warp back to Goldshire and turn in the rest of the quests. You'll get "The Jasperlode Mine" as a followup along with "Shipment to Stormwind".
Go to Stormwind and turn in "Shipment to Stormwind". While you are there, search out your class trainer and learn a profession. You can ask any Stormwind guard for directions. I recommend First Aid as one profession along with skinning and a gathering profession (mining or herbalism).
At this point, you have a few choices to make. You can go back to Goldshire and continue questing around that area. Some like to head to Kharanos from Stormwind and complete the quests in that area. Others still prefer to go to Westfall and pick up some quests in that area.
I've found it faster to go to Kharanos and do the quests in that area, starting with "Tools for Steelgrill", "Beer Basted Boar Ribs", and "Frostmane Hold." Turning "Tools for Steelgrill" at Steelgrill's Depot opens up 3 more quests. It's a little complicated to lay out here and Joan's Leveling Guide does a good job of explaning it.
Regardless of which path you choose, once you reach level 12, you've gone through the Goldshire and Kharanos quests and should be ready for your next new area, most likely, Westfall.

WoW Alliance Leveling Guide: Levels 1-6
WoW Alliance Leveling Guide: Levels 1-6
Here are some quick pointers to get you started on leveling an Alliance character as quick as possible. Keep in mind, that there are suggestions and you can certainly differentiate from that when you want. These tips will help you avoid the less worthwhile quests and maximize you time in the early part of the game.
Levels 1 and 2
Go into the forest near the town and hunt (grind) wolves until you reach level 3. I know, I know.....I said grinding wasn't the fastest way to level. It's not, but this will get your character going and help you get a feel for what the character can do. This is helpful if you've never played a particular class before.
Level 3
Sell and repair your gear if you want.
Get quest "A Threat from Within" When you complete it get "Kobold Camp Cleanup".
Get "Eagan Peltskinner" quest and go talk to him. Take the followup "Wolves Across the Border"
Kill wolves until you get 8 Thoug Wolf Meats. Also, take out 10 Kobold Vermin. If you haven't reached level 4 yet, keep killing wolves/kobold until you reach it.
Level 4
Turn in your completed quests. Take "Investigate Echo Ridge". Take out Kobold Workers until the quest is complete and you reach level 5
Level 5
Turn in previous quest. Take "Skirmish at Echo Ridge". Go to the cave and kill everything inside. Continue your killing spree until you reach level 6
Level 6
Turn in quest. Take "Report to Goldshire"
Go outside church and take "Brotherhood of Thieves". Now you get to kill people instead of wolves or Kobold. Yay. Collect 12 Red Burlap Bandanas.
Turn in that quest and take the two followups "Bounty on Garrick Padfoot" and "]Milly Osworth". Visit Milly and take the followup "Milly Harvest". Go back across the river and into the field. See the buckets? That's the harvest. Make sure you kill any thugs that are around before trying to get the harvest. Now head northeast out of the field and look for a small house. That's where Garrick lives. You might have to wait since other players will be there as well. Take out Garrick and turn your quests in. You can take the followup if you want the reward, your call. If you haven't hit level 7 yet, go take out some more thugs until you do.
That's the first six levels. Next up, a trip to Goldshire. Take a breather of an hour or so before heading to Goldshire.

WoW Alliance Leveling Guide: Levels 1-6
Fastest Way to Level: Questing or Grinding?
Personally, I find questing to be much more fulfilling. It also appears to be the quickest way to level a character as opposed to grinding. Questing also gets me involved in the story of World of Warcraft. I also find it easier to get in a group if I let them know I'm looking to do quests. Very few groups form on the premise of "getting together to wander around and kill stuff." Just about every group wants to run certain quests. Besides, if all I wanted to do was run around and kill stuff, I could play Counterstrike.....and it's free.
The trick for leveling quickly with quests is to complete the right ones at the right time. Do you need to complete all of the quests in the game? My experience tells me no. There are certain quests that can be skipped because of the time involved and the amount of travel to complete them. Since this is about Alliance leveling, I'll see if I can point out a few early ones along the way that can help out those getting started.
